EMERGING FASHION DESIGNERS INCUBATOR
FASHION LAB
FASHION LAB is SFFAMA’s fashion incubator project for talented emerging designers. Leveraging the heritage, creativity and entrepreneurial spark of the SF/Silicon Valley/Bay Area as a “living innovation laboratory,” participants will experience San Francisco’s unique fashion industry DNA, evolving fashion personality, and the impact of technology and innovation on future strategic directions, as a primer to explore and inform their own individual design process and direction. SF Fashion Lab’s program includes Advisory Board business and strategy mentorship, a design and online retail project, events, and a behind-the-scenes look at new business with innovative Bay Area brands, designers, developers, manufacturers, retailers, and startups.
There are two tracks for our Incubator Program: Fashion Tech and Fashion Design.

FASHION LAB is an incubator for a new generation of fashion designers. The concept is to discover emerging talents, nurture their creativity, spotlight and produce their collection and help them gain exposure to reach their target customers. The Inspirare incubator funds the necessary production tools that would not be readily available to designers just starting out. Its production team works with each designer to assist in manufacturing a limited quantity capsule collection for its online shop. FASHION LAB also covers the cost for shipping and manages customer support to ensure consistent quality and a top notch shopping experience.
Rags to Revenue: What local jobs and start-ups could we create from textiles now going to waste? An introduction to the Challenge to learn Last September, the City of San Francisco is inviting its citizens to participate in the “Rags to Revenue” Challenge to address the issues of waste and job creation. The ImproveSF Design Jam will kick-off the challenge with a two-part event where folks from the design, start-up, and social enterprise space come together to collaborate on innovative ideas to answer the challenge question from experts working on issues related to job creation in San Francisco.
