Ryzenberg On: Chambray Wishes

It’s light, it’s easy to wear and it doesn’t wrinkle — yup, I am referring to chambray.

This is seriously the perfect fabric for spring and summer as it can be dressed up, down and it’s a perfect staple for a vacation or work ensemble.

Pair it with printed or colored jeans, some jewelry and sandals and you are set to go. As for the 9-to-5 look, a pair of trousers, a blazer and heels and you will be comfy in the office.

Chambray dresses are also perfect and can even go from day to night with the right accessories. This color pretty much combines with everything and it’s a nice alternative to sun dresses and maxi pleats.

If you live in denim, it’s also easy to combine it and avoid looking like you are sporting a Canadian tuxedo! Just make sure the shirt is slightly different from the jeans (or shorts) and you will have a winning look!

These gals sure know how to rock it.

Another party, another boutique comes to SF! This time, the colorful and whimsical designs of Stacey Bendet now have a home in Fillmore Street.

The opening party, hosted by fashion blogger (and Florida Gator) Blair Eadie was filled with beautiful people, bubbly, superb styles and even a fashionista pup!

Yup, even my Zara sandals were snapped and made it to Pinterest, so I had to share this with everyone…

Ryzenberg On: Can’t Get Enough of Karlie Kloss

Seriously life doesn’t get any better than this: Karlie Kloss barely clothed + Vogue Italia spread shot by Steven Meisel = FLAWLESS

Seriously, who doesn’t want to have these set of legs? This is just seriously unreal.

Ryzenberg On: Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2011

Ryzenberg On: Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2011

These gals sure have legs! I mean, Karlie, Anne V and Miranda (Lucky Orlando Bloom) Kerr were amongst many other uber babes who strutted their stuff at the Victoria’s Secret annual parade of all things leather, lace, naughty and nice (oh yeah, and let’s not forget those WINGS!)

This year was another production for the popular retailer, as the show featured six vignettes that consisted of “Ballet,” “Super Angels,” “Passion,” “Angels Aquatic,” “I Put a Spell on You” and “Club Pink.” They, along with the bevy of beauties, sure didn’t disappoint.

Kanye West, Jay-z, (with Beyonce cheering him on) Adam Levine and Nicki Minaj provided ‘some’ of the entertainment, but really the girls really was everything everyone was looking at. They stole the show and the looks were perfect and they were all smiling, which is so refreshing compared to the usual shows during Fashion Month.

What a fun night! Seriously, it’s not everyday you see gorgeous gal with flawless proportions sporting a $2.5M bra and nearly 20 wearing nothing but their skeevies! I enjoyed every second of it, and can’t wait to see what’s in the cards for next year.

Ryzenberg On: Currently Coveting

Ryzenberg On: Currently Coveting So yes, this is the time of the year when I put together my wish list (in hopes it becomes a reality) so listen up! This time, I am doing things a little bit different. I’ve placed some of the highlights above, but most of my coveteables are available on this nifty new site called Give or Get. It is currently in private beta, but let me know if you’d like to test it! Give or Get allows you to create gift guides to share with friends so that you don’t get an ugly sweater or toaster during those special milestones in life. Not sure what to get mom for her birthday? Just create a guide with fun presents and select the best one. This is super handy especially for planning bridal parties, bachelorettes or housewarming. This case, there are no repeats and more importantly, no gift cards as gifts! Above List: 1. Carine Roifeld Irreverent — www.shopbop.com 2. Ryzenberg On: Perfect Cold Weather Footwear

Ryzenberg On: Perfect Cold Weather Footwear Thanksgiving means winter is just around the corner, so it’s time to go search for the perfect statement boot that will not only help you strut your stuff, but also protect you from chilly days. These styles are perfect, whether you are in sunny California or walking the streets in the North East. Below freezing temperatures are not an excuse to leave fashion behind, and these styles not only are practical, but they will also help you leave a mark.  A few of my picks include: 1. Elegant black booties: Work well with tights and skirts, skinny jeans and even trousers. This is a versatile boot for sure. (Activate Suede Active Boots www.topshop.com) 2. Sorel boots: Perfect for trekking in the snow and works well with jeans and leggings. This is a utility boot, so I hope they don’t become as ubiquitous as UGGS did a few years back. PS: These are not to be worn in warm climate cities. (Sorel Joan of Artic Weather Boots www.mytheresa.com) 3. Riding boots: Another must for fall. A neutral color works well with all the colors seen this season. Pair them for the day with a scarf and denim or even at night with tights, cute accessories and a dress. You’ll sure turn heads. (RALPH LAUREN COLLECTION Vintage Cuoio Half Boots Istara li www.STYLEBOP.com) 4. Velvet peep toe booties: These will be the talk of any holiday party. They are sexy and very sultry. I also like the texture, since velvet elevates them to a more elegant feel. The gold detail makes them luxurious too. (MESSECA Velvet Wedge Sandals www.theoutnet.com)  5. Top Sider booties: A nautical twist with a hint of winter. These boots are practical for the rain because of its rubber soles. I like the red laces because it really makes them stand out! Very different indeed. (Trinity Boot Lug www.sperrytopsider.com) Alright so remember, there is a boot on every budget and only pick one of two styles. Make sure to break them in before the bad storm, and with all these tips, you are sure to put your best foot forward into style! Ryzenberg On, is Signing Off PHOTOS: Polyvore

Ryzenberg On: Versace for H&M Already Causing Chaos

Ryzenberg On: Versace for H&M Already Causing Chaos It’s about 6 p.m. on Friday and people in San Francisco are already lined up and ready to brave the rain (AGAIN) for the much-anticipated Versace for H&M collection. The same goes for Toronto, New York and most likely any other city that’s carrying the coveted bright ensembles. However, the collection already debuted overseas and it caused quite a ruccus. Fights broke in China, the website crashed in Europe and even leader of the pack Donatella made a cameo appearance at the Regent Square store in London.  It was so crazy, items sold out in 30 minutes in Shanghai and Dubai. Wow, I never thought one needed a war reporting background to snag one of these sought-after items — until I decided to experience it all for the Love of Lanvin! After braving the cold and the rain last year for more than 10 hours, I can offer a few words of advice to those seeking to own designer capsule collections for a fraction of the price. Be Patient: It’s going to be a long night. Expect lots of drunks to walk by, homeless people and even some wondering what’s going on. Oh yeah, please be aware that some might even ask if you are waiting to go get a new iPhone or for tickets for the latest Twilight movie. Once you are given a bracelet (if you are amongst the first 280 people in line) you are free to roam the streets until your group is ready to go. Bring lots of layers: It will get freezing (no matter where you are) so bring lots of coats, scarves and warm sweaters. Since H&M employees are connoseurs of this shenanigan, at around 6 a.m. they will come out with coffee and cookies (and even free shwag) Go to the bathroom early: See if there is a hotel nearby or somewhere that you can go and freshen up. After 1 a.m. restaurants begin to close and it’s going to be impossible to find a loo. If you can hold it in, some delis and coffee shops start opening at 5 a.m. Entertainment is a must: Charge your computer, iPhone, Droid, BlackBerry, bring an iPad. You must have some sort of entertainment. Magazines, Sudoku — anything. Food — another necessity: Have snacks especially if you can’t sleep at like 4 a.m. I remember at the H&M I was at in San Francisco, the Starbucks across the street opened at 5 a.m. and I ran to grab some tea. Comfty clothes: This is a no-brainer one. I mean, it gets cold, you are out all the time and once your group is in, it’s going to feel like a jungle in there. Remember you are going to be running and (hopefully not) fighting for the items, so this is not the time to wear your old Jimmy Choos from their collaboration in 2009.  Have a strategy: Treat this like a sport. Prepare like you are ultimately going for a Super Bowl ring. Have a list of items you want ready and pay attention to where the things are. Obviously it helps if you know the store well, but even if you don’t just ask the sales assistants and they will be happy to help.  Act Quick: Some things are going to go in SECONDS. I remember the Lanvin sunglasses sold out in 15 minutes. If you see something that perhaps you didn’t plan on buying grab it anyway, then make up your mind at the register or give it to someone who does want it.  Have fun: This is a fun opportunity that’s sure to be a conversation starter and people are going to want to know how it’s like. Ryzenberg On: Joseph Altuzarra visits SF’s Neiman Marcus

[ Photo by Gustavo Fernandez for Drew Altizer Photography ]

I was so lucky to attend a Joseph Altuzarra trunk show and personal appearance last week at Neiman Marcus. I do have to say that at first I was a little bit intimidated, but Altuzarra is the sweetest, nicest and approachable designer out there. Oh yeah, did I mention that I want everything from his S/S 2012 collection? Well if you want to gift me something really special, there is your cue.

But here is the deal on how it all went down — I got to Neimans super early and started walking around aimlessly (although I was secretly looking for the Stella McCartney Falabella bag) until I asked three sales gals if the Altuzarra event was taking place. One of them kindly took me to the Rotunda, where they were having a VIP brunch and Q&A, and clearly I was not invited to.

So be it! I enjoyed the Q&A and got to find out some of the most interesting and candid facts about Altuzarra. It was delightful and when the event ended, I went downstairs and chatted with some fellow bloggers from Refinery 29 and Amber Lane, mastermind behind Amber’s Notebook. Of course, after much anticipation, waiting and brunch crashing, I finally had a chance to talk and take a picture with the superstar designer himself!

Not a bad day for a gal who started blogging regularly only a few months ago.

There is something so desirable about ALTUZARRA. His clothes are not only tailored to perfection, but they also contrast utility, masculinity and feminity with amazing knits and to die-for draping. To me, this is a great contrast that works for the most ladylike socialite to even an edgier downtown gal.

Did I mention the quality of the knits. When trying one of their chunky knits from the Fall 2011 collection, it was like satin and completely light. (A girl can only dream) & of course he used one of my personal prints — argyle! By the time I saw those sweaters, it was heaven indeed.

His S/S 2012 collection was one of the most talked-about during New York Fashion Week. His eclectic combination of leather, outerwear, bold prints and active wear made a very cohesive thoughtful collection. I was really impressed with his attention to detail in each piece.

No wonder he just received the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund! This sartorial visionary is certainly going places and can’t wait to see what’s in stock for the future, which hopefully includes owning one of his coveted garments.

Ryzenberg On: Alber Elbaz — designer & Author

So I know the fashion world is raving over last week’s Versace for H&M party in New York and the Victoria’s Secret Show. But, I’d like to mention something even more amazing that’s about to shake up everyone’s satin heels and ballet flats — Alber Elbaz is writing a book about what’s it like to make a collection for Lanvin.

This is indeed music to my ears. Can the timing of the announcement be more perfect? It was exactly one year ago that we (and I guess I’d say myself) were anxiously waiting for his collection to arrive at H&M and everyone was gushing about it.

The 700-page masterpiece will include anecdotes, photos and it’s set to be released in 2012.

This will certainly make my Amazon.com wish list & “hint, hint” if you want to shower me with love and gifts!
