Tavi Gevinson is editor-in-chief and founder of RookieMag.com and writes thestylerookie.com. Rookie, a site for teenage girls, broke 1 million page views within 5 days of launching in September of 2011, and contributors have included Miranda July, Dan Savage, Joss Whedon, JD Samson, Zooey Deschanel, Sady Doyle, Lesley Arfin, and Cindy Gallop. It has received praise from Weekend Edition Sunday on NPR, the New Yorker, and a number of other publications, and, most importantly, the girls who write in to the site. Tavi has also written for publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, Jezebel, Lula, and Pop, and is a contributing editor to GARAGE magazine. She is 15 and a sophomore in high school, and also the author of an embarrassing diary recently found from the 6th grade.

Join an evening seminar and panel of esteemed writers to discuss the craft of fashion writing and the nuts and bolts of getting your work published.
In addition to reflecting on the writing process, the panelists will address issues related to the publishing aspects of writing, both in print and electronically. Each panelist comes to 826 with a unique experience and fascinating approach to fashion writing. Our panel will include Lauren Goodman (Vogue, Fashion Director of Domino), Gina Pell (Splendora.com and Joyus.com), Lorraine Sanders (SfIndieFashion.com, SF Chronicle), Laura Vrcek (ModCloth.com), and Katie Hintz-Zambrano (Refinery29.com)! This workshop is very much a hands-on affair. No details will be spared; all pertinent secrets will be revealed.

ANDREA KRYSTINE: Ecologique Fashion was developed by model and Art Director Andrea Krystine, Ecologique Fashion is an eco fashion blog and an online magazine. The goal of Ecologique Fashion is to educate consumers about the importance of sustainability, while supporting green designers and ethical business owners. Ecologique: Fashion for a Green Future is the annual fashion event featuring eco-concious designers who impact the fashion industry. The production includes a runway show and trade show that catalogs artists and business owners who support green fashion and eco lifestyles.
JESICA RYZENBERG is the newest contributing writer for SFFAMA. She is the voice behind the fashion blog “Ryzenberg On”. Jesica is a feisty fashionista hailing from Peru with an affinity for all Bravo TV programming. If you desire the unpredictable and love a hint of spice, then she’s your girl! Her heart is currently in San Francisco, but her soul floats around the globe.
MELISSA SANCHEZ: Melissa started Simply Sanchez as a personal blog to share life updates with friends and family. MIRA TORRES is a freelance writer whose links and articles have been featured in various online outlets including San Francisco’s 7×7, Blackbook, and Sashay magazine. She writes her own popular Beauty and Accessories column on nationwide news resource Examiner.com. One of the things I’m loving now is the Winter Wonderland ready white scarves that I keep spotting everywhere. Celebrities like Kate Moss and Zoe Saldana have already been seen wearing white cashmere scarves with their matching white pea coats or freshening up the look of a classic black overcoat.
